Kris Allen will be singing the national anthem at the NFC Championship game on Jan. 24, he revealed in a brief interview with the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
The NFL playoffs begin this weekend, so Kris won't know where he's going until the divisional round is completed on Jan. 17. The NFC playoffs teams (in order of seed) are: New Orleans, Minnesota, Dallas, Arizona, Green Bay and Philadelphia. Dallas/Philadelphia and Arizona/Green Bay play in the Wild Card this week. The winners will then face New Orleans and Minnesota. The two most likely places the game will take place are New Orleans and Minnesota (yay domes).
We all know Kris will be rooting for Green Bay to be in the game he's singing at, but it's a big longshot. But maybe they can at least last to the divisional round. I'm not sure who they would face, but it would be funny if it was Minnesota and Brett Favre.
The NFC Championship game will be televised on Fox. For the playoffs, they usually do air the national anthem. Jordin Sparks did the NFC Championship last year, and Chris Daughtry did it in 2007.
