Many of the Idols were performing on New Year's Eve this year. Kris Allen and Allison Iraheta performed in Las Vegas on Fox's Billboard New Year's Eve show. Adam Lambert performed in Los Angeles at Gridlock New Year's Eve. Chris Daughtry was in Times Square with his band for Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve. David Cook rang in the new year with a concert in Pechanga Casino & Resort. Matt Giraud sang the national anthem and performed at halftime at the Oklahoma City Thunder basketball game.
Kris sang "Live Like We're Dying" (VIDEO) and then came back on just after midnight and rang in the new year with "Can't Stay Away" (VIDEO). Allison performed after Kris, singing "Friday I'll Be Over U" (VIDEO) and then "Holiday" (VIDEO) to close the show.
Adam headlined the Gridlock New Year's Eve party and sang 10 songs off his album - "Music Again", "If I Had You", "Whataya Want From Me", "Strut", "Surefire Winners", "Soaked", "For Your Entertainment", "Sleepwalker", "Fever", and "Down The Rabbit Hole" - and closed with an encore of "Whole Lotta Love".
