Kris, Adam, Daughtry, Carrie, J-Hud Nominated For People's Choice Award

Kris Allen helped announce the 2009 People's Choice Awards nominees this morning, and as it turns out, he was one of the nominees in the Breakout Music Artist category, along with fellow Idol finalist Adam Lambert, Britain's Got Talent's Susan Boyle, Demi Lovato and Lady Gaga. Interesting - only one of these artists did not become famous first from being on television.

Other Idols nominated were Carrie Underwood for Female Artist (with Beyonce, Britney Spears, Pink and Taylor Swift) and Country Artist (with Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, Rascal Flatts and Taylor Swift); Jennifer Hudson for R&B Artist (with Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Mariah Carey and Usher); and Daughtry for Rock Band (with Green Day, Kings of Leon, Muse and Paramore). American Idol and So You think You Can Dance were nominated for TV competition show, along with Dancing With the Stars, Project Runway and "Survivor: Samoa".
