Kris Allen Writing With Grammy-Winning Songwriter

Kris Allen is still doing some songwriting for his album and spent his day off on Monday writing with Grammy-winning songwriter Dan Wilson at his house in South Minneapolis, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported.

Wilson co-wrote the Dixie Chicks' "Not Ready To Make Nice", which won a Grammy for Song of the Year in 2007. He has also written songs for Jason Mraz, James Morrison, and Jewel. Wilson was the frontman of Semisonic, which had a hit with "Closing Time," a song that was nominated for a Grammy in 1999 for Best Rock Song.

Alex Band is also going to be writing with Kris soon. He tweeted that he's meeting with Kris in Pennsylvania on Sept. 7, and that he had been working on song ideas. Band was the lead singer of the band The Calling, which had a huge hit with "Wherever You Will Go", which they still play on the radio (just heard it today, in fact!). I'm also partial to their song "Our Lives". Band also had a big hit with the Carlos Santana song "Why Don't You And I."
