Hoop Dreams

Jason McElwain scored 20 points in four minutes at a high school basketball game in Rochester, NY. Why is this a big deal? Jason is the team manager of the Greece Athena team. And he's autistic. (Watch news clip here)

Jason drained six three-point shots in front of a delirious home crowd. He was carried off the court after the game by his fellow students.

Almost as inspiring as Jason himself is the fact that the student body embraced rather than mocked him. This wasn't a Lucas-type of acceptance where the kid was only accepted after the big game. The students brought J-MAC signs to the game and made cutouts of his face on popsicle sticks. He was loved even before he became a household name all over the nation.

Naturally, Disney, along with at least a dozen other studios, has been in contact with the family for movie rights.
